Exploring the 'Futures' of Cordillera higher Education: 6 SUCs unite to develop roadmap in Futures Consortium Workshop


To develop and operationalize Regional Futures and Foresight Agenda, the six (6) State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) convene for the Regional Futures Consortium Workshop: High Level Anticipatory Leadership and Governance Executive Course in Tagaytay City today (August 30) until September 1, 2022.

Officials from host school Ifugao State University (IFSU), Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology, Apayao State College, Benguet State University, Kalinga State University, and Mountain Province Polytechnic College have committed to craft and agree on a regional roadmap for the future of higher education in CAR through futures thinking and strategic foresight indicating the short-term, medium-term, and long-term objectives and target outcomes.

Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon, IFSU University President and Chair of the Cordillera Administrative Region Association of State Universities and Colleges, expressed her full support for the endeavor they are embarking on.

“As one Cordillera, we agree to collaborate with the mutual goal of achieving a region of future-proof higher education institutions and future-ready graduates who shall respond to the regional, national, and international demands of society.

The Regional Futures Consortium Workshop is organized by IFSU in partnership with the Committee on Sustainable Development Goals, Innovation and Futures Thinking with Senator Pia S. Cayetano as Chair, Philippine Futures Thinking Society, DAP Graduate School, and the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges.
