IFSU tops Regional Institutional booth competition


Ifugao State University placed first in the institutional booth category during the 12th Regional Symposium; 5th Student Congress; and 7th joint Farmers Technology forum on RDE highlights held at the Benguet State University compound last November 21-24.

With its theme, “Translating Science, Technology and Innovation in the pursuit of Community and Regional AANR Resilience,” the institutional booth exhibit competition is an additional feature to this year’s regional symposium. It serves as an avenue to showcase research and development outputs and initiatives among consortium members.

The IFSU booth entry was headed by the Department of Research and Development under the supervision of Dr. Elpidio B. Basilio Jr. and it consists of products derived from researches such as the “bayah”, taro chips, citron-lemon marmalade, coffee products from incubatees assisted by IFSU-IPCTWBM, calapino soap, and IEC materials such as magazines, leaflets and flyers.

Moreover, out of the 18 qualified professional researches for oral and poster presentation, 8 oral and 6 poster with a total of 14 research titles participated in the symposium for the professional category, while two researches from the student category were submitted for presentation.

Dr. Marissa P. Bulong, Vice-President for RDET also attended the said activity to support IFSU presenters and delegates.// With reports from Kimverly Diwas
