IFSU capacitates 25 women in organic agriculture entrepreneurship, basic bookkeeping


As a committed partner in community development, Ifugao State University (IFSU) equipped 25 women from the Women’s Group of Sanafe Bible Church with skills in Organic Agricultural entrepreneurship and Basic bookkeeping through a seminar on August 9, 2022, at Barangay Sanafe, Lamut, Ifugao.

Ms. Doulet P. Peralta and Ms. Cherry Ann H. Bumidang, both members of the project, discussed the basics of business, its functions, the characteristics of an entrepreneur, the risks and benefits of a successful business owner; and basic record keeping for a farm business, financial management, marketing, costing and pricing.

Implemented by the Project Management Team (PMT) led by Chairperson Dr. Joyce Bodah, the activity aims to develop rural women entrepreneurs and strengthen their existing organizations.

Dr. Bodah expressed hope that the women beneficiaries will apply the knowledge and skills to become a successful women’s organization in the community and for at least half of the number of trained women to have sustainable entrepreneurial projects.

The PMT will also conduct an educational tour and organize a contest as a practical application for the said women's group.
