IFSU opens facilities to Ifugao athletes for CARAA Meet 24’

Ifugao State University's (IFSU) Lamut (Main) Campus opened its doors to the Ifugao athletes participating in the upcoming Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet 2024 slated for 15-19 April 2024 in Luna, Apayao.

According to Dir. Karen Malingan-Cumti, University Director of the Department of Sports Development, IFSU opened its facilities for training to the elementary and secondary athletes participating in various events, including badminton, table tennis, baseball, and football.

"We at IFSU are committed to supporting our Ifugao athletes in their athletic endeavors. By providing them with a venue to train, we hope to contribute to their success in the upcoming CARAA Meet,” Dir. Malingan-Cumti said.

The University's support goes beyond just providing a venue. The IFSU Lamut Campus - Sports League, varsity athletes, and alumni volunteers assisted in coaching the young athletes by sharing new tactics and strategies.

Trainer and Coach Mr. Jerry Pugong expressed his gratitude for IFSU's support. "We are so much grateful and thankful for this is the first time that IFSU housed our athletes," he said. "This marks the beginning of a stronger partnership between the Department of Education (DepEd) and IFSU. We are looking forward for a continuous commitment through a MOA in the near future."

While facility use requests require approval by the University President, this instance exemplifies IFSU's commitment to its core value of Service.
