IFSU – CODETE launches Project SHARPEN

To boost research leadership and culture, the College of Open Distance Education and Transnational Education (CODETE) of the Ifugao State University (IFSU) launched Project SHARPEN or Strengthening and Harnessing Academic Research and Publication Experiences in the New Normal via Zoom Cloud meeting today, May 14.

Funded by the Office of the University President, said the project shows a manifestation of the current leadership to level up the Research Development and Extension activities in the Advanced Education, whose faculty members are not only expected but also required to have research publications that contribute in decision making and policy formulation.

“As a State University and College (SUC) and the only Higher Education Institution (HEI) in the Ifugao province, we feel the impetus to contribute to societal change. I am enjoining all our faculty participants to take into heart this training series, in as much as we are investing to a great extent not only on capacitating you for your professional and personal development but also on empowering you to become great leaders and momentum makers, which is in line with our succession plan and aspiration,” remarked Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon, University President.

Dr. Ferdinand Bulusan, a published researcher and teacher trainer, serves as the resource speaker for the all sessions. Participated by at least 20 faculty members, the first session that concluded today delved on how to choose high-impact journals: requisites, challenges, and techniques.

Focused on writing and packaging researches for submission to target publishers, the project is left with 7 session trainings more. Each session is scheduled every Friday afternoon until July 9.
