IFSU DRRM visits offices for basic first aid tips


In its efforts to increase the capacity of all offices to respond in times of emergencies, the Ifugao State University Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Committee conducted basic bandaging and splinting tips in at least eight departments and offices in the University.  

Led by Aaron Olk, US Peace Corps Response Volunteer, Ari Steven Dulnuan and Jeremy Bunoy, the team organized a simple bandaging and splinting demo for different offices and department. 

“The offices we visited have very good feedbacks on the importance of basic bandaging and splinting,” said Olk, US Peace Corps Volunteer.   Aside from this, the DRRM Committee also conducted Basic Life Support (BLS) Training at IFSU Lagawe participated by selected employees of IFSU Lagawe and Tinoc Campuses. Another schedule of BLS training is set for Potia Campus and other campuses.  

Recently, IFSU also participated during the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill in preparation for the ‘Big One’. PhilVocs identified Ifugao as one of the areas with active fault lines. The drill is one of the ways to instill disaster preparedness among the employees.#
