Employees participate in #PurpleWalk

As part of the month-long celebration of National Women’s Month, employees of Ifugao State University (IFSU) enjoyed a hike in the eco-park of the University in Mabato-bato, Lamut, Ifugao last March 10.

University employees trekked the eco-park trail in purple shirts and purple balloons until they reached the peak of the mountain with a view of the fertile plains of Lamut town.

The #PurpleHike, according to the Gender and Development Research and Resource Center, aims to celebrate creativity, imagination, and spirituality which are qualities often associated with women as keepers of culture and creativity.

An orientation on Gender and Development (GAD) and Gender Fair Language also followed with Ms. Riezelle Aguinaya Echanova, a faculty member of the College of Arts and Sciences, as resource speaker.

Said event is just one of the several activities of the University for National Women’s Month celebration.
