To improve the Student Manual, Ifugao State University (IFSU) spearheaded by the Department of Student Services and Development (DSSD) is conducting a workshop today, April 15, 2024, at the Audio-Visual Room, University Library, IFSU-Main Campus. Students, the major stakeholder of the University, are invited to provide valuable feedback to help refine the Student Manual.

The workshop will also gather insights from the University offices directly involved in delivering key student services. This aims to ensure the manual effectively serves the University community and includes only feasible procedures.

Ms. Desiree A. Ballitoc, DSSD Director, stressed the importance of this review process. She added that the focus areas of said workshop are Admission and Retention Policy, Student Scholarships and Financial Assistance, and the Conduct of Educational Tours, Field Trips and others.

Dr. Mary P. Caclini, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), emphasized the workshop's role in aligning the Student Manual with the feedback received from accreditation agencies and CHED Memorandum Orders (CMOs).

โ€œIt (Student Manual) may be far from perfect. But, at least, it is a manual that we are satisfied and it serves the purpose of the University. I encourage everyone to contribute,โ€ she remarked.

The workshop is being participated by University Student Regent Mr. Lorence T. Cupido and top officers from the Vocational Leaders of the Philippines College Chapter (VLPCC), The Upland Farm, Official Student Publication, Sports League, and IFSU Campuses' Supreme Student Governments (SSGs).

The Department of Student Services and Development (DSSD), Department of Registrar and Admission Services (DRAS), Department of Quality Assurance, and Campusesโ€™ DSSD Chairpersons are also participating in the workshop to provide a comprehensive review process that considers the needs and regulatory requirements of all involved parties.

The consolidated insights during this workshop will be finalized on April 18-19. Afterward, a Stakeholders' Consultation will be held on April 24, 2024, to present the revised manual. The final iteration will then be presented to the Academic Council Meeting on May 9, 2024, for endorsement to the Board of Regents, the highest governing body.#Faith B. Napudo
