IFSU launches Adopt-a-School program at Pulaan ES

Ifugao State University (IFSU), through the Department of Extension and Training (DET), formally adopted Pulaan Elementary School through a Memorandum of Agreement signing held on 23 April 2024 at Pulaan Elementary School, Bimpal, Lamut, Ifugao.

The Adopt-a-School program creates an opportunity for collaboration between IFSU and Department of Education. It aims to significantly impact the deserving school community by addressing specific needs and challenges. The program will provide resources and support to parents, teachers, children, and the entire community.

DET University Director Dr. Marah Joy A. Nanglegan presented potential extension projects of the university to be conducted in the adopted school.

Dr. Marissa P. Bulong, Vice President for Research, Development, Extension and Training, expressed her enthusiasm for the program's progress and the welcoming community. She hopes for the full participation and support of the school, community leaders, and parents. "To our children," Dr. Bulong said, "be inspired by this activity that IFSU is doing for you because you are the future of this community."

Mr. Jose Bengwic, President of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), pledged the community's full participation in the program's initiatives. "We assure 100% participation of the community to all the projects that IFSU will be conducting through this adoption," he said. He further expressed his gratitude to IFSU President Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon for her prompt action on their long-standing request. "We had been requesting this since 2019 and it is now finally granted," he said.
