Innovation Through In-house Information Technology Systems

The Ifugao State University has initiated the implementation of tailor-made in-house systems to address challenges faced by stakeholders and to align with the University's objectives of streamlining processes and enhancing productivity. Recognizing the need for automation due to the rising student population, the university ICT department spearheaded the development of in-house information systems to manage volumes of student data and other resources.

One of the innovations is the Ifugao State University – Academic Information Management System (IFSU-AIMS), which has emerged as the new platform for managing student information and accounting. It offers options, adaptability, and ease of access, with the primary goal of providing cohesive governance across the university's six campuses. AIMS operates as a web-based information management system. Designed for multi-users, IFSU-AIMS comes with separate and independent portals for students, registrar, accounting, cashier, instructors/ deans, and even parents. End-users like students can have easy access to their assessments, grades, class schedules, bills, and more.

The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) consolidates various functions,

including recruitment, employee welfare, performance management, and learning and development, offering a comprehensive solution for applicants who can conveniently submit and track their applications online.

Another IT system developed is the Centralized Library Management System (CLMS) functions as an online catalog system for book inquiries, granting access to periodical articles categorized by subject or author, functioning as a subject catalog for articles within magazines and journals.

Also, the Supply Office Inventory System incorporates features that facilitate the management and reporting of the university's supply inventory.

Furthermore, the Ifugao State University Official Website undergoes continuous updates to include significant enhancements, such as the incorporation of a Gender and Development (GAD) webpage  which was launched during the Women’s Month Celebration.

Another upgrade to the University website was the inclusion of the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System webpage which could be accessed at ifsu.edu.ph/giahs.

The Career Development Center (ICDC) webpage was also uploaded on the same portal which paves way to services to the clienteles such as job placement and activities related to student mobility and internship. There are four sub-menus (Students’ Talent Co-Creation Lab, Internship and Traineeship Service, Student-Community Volunteering Service and About ICDC.
