Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon is the incumbent President of the Ifugao State University elected by the University’s Board of Regents on May 21, 2018. She is the 1st woman and 2nd University President.

Dr. Dugyon is a leader with passion and purpose. Anchored with principle-driven, people-centered and practical wisdom, she adopted these strategic leadership virtues under her administration. Being born and raised in a God-fearing family, she continues to put God as a source of inspiration and strength in her life. Living out Christ’s teachings, she envisions herself as a leader who can influence, transform and touch other people’s life.

Dr. Dugyon is an achiever and a strong woman. She got straight A’s from elementary through secondary and a consistent First Honor from Grade 1 to 4th year High School. She graduated Valedictorian at ISCAF High School. In college, she was an academic scholar and a Dean’s Lister at the Lyceum of the Philippines, Intramuros, Manila, where she graduated with a degree, BS Journalism in 3 and ½ years. She was chosen as the Associate Editor of the “Lycean Magazine”, the official student publication of the Lyceum of the Philippine University. Dr. Dugyon was also a Commission on Higher Education (CHED) scholar and an FSDP grantee during her graduate studies at St. Mary’s University (SMU), and Nueva Vizcaya University, respectively.

She also attended numerous seminars, training, and conferences. On top of these, she is one of the few SUC executives who passed and completed the Philippine Higher Education Career System (Phil-HECS) Training under the Executive Development Program of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) through the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP). The Phil-HECS is the professional advancement and career management system for senior executives in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).

Among Dr. Dugyon’s research outputs and publications are: a) Information network output of tilapia farmers in Ifugao, Philippines, b) Tilapia pond farming: The new driver of blue economy in Ifugao, c) Impact of community extension programs on the residents of selected adopted barangays of Ifugao State University, and d) Factors influencing sources of Information by the woodcarvers of Ifugao.

Dr. Dugyon is a hard worker. She was first employed as a clerk and eventually became a Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) of the Department of Interior Local Government-Cordillera Administrative Region (DILG-CAR) after undergoing rigorous training at the Local Government Academy (LGA). In 2005, she found her way back to the groves of academe where she was molded and nurtured as a leader with great potential. A month after her transfer to IFSU, Dr. Dugyon became the youngest member of the Administrative Council (ADCO), is designated as the Director of the Management Information System (MIS), which was later renamed as the Public Assistance and Information Services (PAIS). In 2014, she qualified herself to a teaching position (Instruction) and subjected herself to NBC 641, 5th cycle evaluation. She attained the academic rank Assistant Professor II, and subsequently rose to Associate Professor I as per NBC 461, 6th Cycle evaluation.

Dr. Dugyon is a homegrown leader. Her journey to the university presidency is both historical and a source of pride for the alumni. For the first time, an alumna of the defunct ISCAF High School Laboratory is elected to the top of IFSU leadership. Her being elected to the university presidency is a testament to the teachings of ISCAF Laboratory High School as an institution that nurtured academic and leadership excellence. Dr. Dugyon’s coming back to serve her alma mater despite great opportunities elsewhere also speaks of a heart that looks back to where she started.

Aside from these, Dr. Dugyon is also a daughter to her parents, mother to her two children, and wife to her husband.

As the current IFSU President, Dr. Dugyon envisions to advance the gains of the previous administrations and introduce programs that are innovative and relevant for all its stakeholders. She is also passionate in advancing institutional branding, capitalizing on the rich cultural heritage of Ifugao, internationalization, and technologizing the University.

With Dr. Dugyon’s leadership and the commitment and support of all stakeholders, IFSU poised to reach greater heights. #
