World Tourism Day for websiteIFSU celebrated the World Tourism Day through a brief orientation on tourism affairs rendered to employees and students, and through dance presentations by the Tourism students after the flag raising ceremony in front of the Administration Building on September 14, 2015.

The theme of the celebration was “One Billion Tourists, One Billion Opportunities”

To join the United Nations World Tourism Organization in celebration of World Tourism Day, the Tourism Department made it a weeklong event through booth exhibits.

TNE and Graduate Extension Program now offered in Capiz

IFSU TNE launching in Capiz for Footprints and WebsiteIFSU launched its Transnational Education and Graduate Extension Program at Roxas, Capiz and rendered orientation to 300 enrollees on August 29, 2015.

The event themed “IFSU Making the World Your Campus” was in collaboration with Saint Robert Training and Management Center (SRTMC).

IFSU participates in historically significant provincial events

Lenong for webThe Ifugao State University (IFSU) – Main Campus Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Unit, back-to-back champion in the Regional Annual Administrative Tactical Inspection (RAATI), performed the parade-in-review during the historic Lenong ad Majawjaw (Peace in Mayoyao) Celebration on August 9, 2015.

“Lenong is an annual provincial event commemorating World War II’s last and fiercest battle at Mt. Nagchajan, Mayoyao, Ifugao. The battle fought in the Eastern Ifugao Campaign commenced at the said mountain on July 13 to August 9, 1945. A historical marker was installed at the site by the National Historical Institute.

A group of IFSU students also had ethnic dance presentation during the September 2 Victory Day in Kiangan, Ifugao commemorating the surrender of General Tomoyuki Yamashita.

AACCUP training director shares insights on OBQA

OBQA for websiteAccrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP) Training Director for Luzon Dr. Mario S. Suba shared his insights on Outcomes Based Quality Assurance (OBQA) in a seminar-workshop at the IFSU Review Center on July 2 to 3, 2015.

The AACCUP Newsletter July 2012 issue maintains that outcomes based evaluation would mean a departure from the common practice of evaluating inputs and processes.

CSC chooses IFSU to undergo PRIME-HRM

Civil Service Commission (CSC) Provincial Director Atty. Allyson Locano announced on September 14, 2015 after the flag raising ceremony in front of the administration building that IFSU was chosen as one of the agencies to undergo Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME – HRM).

Atty. Locano said international standards will be used to assess IFSU’s maturity level in the aspect of human resource and organizational development.

LGU keeps up aid to IFSU studes

The Local government of Hungduan has reinforced its support to the programs of the Ifugao State University (IFSU) via a scholarship funding made thru the Office of the Municipal Mayor.

Hungduan Municipal Mayor Hilario T. Bumangabang confirmed in a transmittal to University President Dr. Serafin L. Ngohayon that the 28 freshmen enrolled in Diploma in Agriculture (DAT) – Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT) in IFSU – Hapao Campus will be financially assisted.

Designated Campus Director is Mr. Vicente L. Kalaw said that the funding covers the tuition and other miscellaneous fees of the students.

It can be recalled that the IFSU- Hapao Campus opened in June 2015.  The LGU of Hungduan assisted the IFSU Administration in campaigning for student enrollees. Months earlier they also aided the IFSU research group that carried out  the  survey of course programs preferred.

IFSU – Hapao Campus offers DAT-BAT and Master of Arts in Education (MAED) with 49 enrollees. #

Mobilizing Future Hopes: “UMAP to Raise the Global Spirits”

The University Mobility of Asia in the Pacific (UMAP) was founded in year 1993, a voluntary association of government and non-government representatives of international higher education institutions. UMAP has been successful in promoting harmony within diversity among its member countries in Asia and the Pacific through internationalizing program offerings and mobilizing students and staffs. Agri studes finish OJT in Israel

OJT Israel 4Forty-eight IFSU Agriculture students finished their Agrostudies On-the-Job Training (OJT) in Israel this semester.

A graduation ceremony was held on September 2, 2015 where they received their Certificate of Completion.

Renato Bumilac Jr., one of the graduates, said the OJT program enhanced and widened his knowledge on agriculture.
